Belly of the Lake

I contributed to the belly of the lake today.

For 5 years, I’ve been looking through the same lenses. They’ve seen a number of hot sunny days on the practice field. Stared at many miles of road, navigating to a number of destinations. Accompanied me many days on the afternoon bus ramp, orchestrating bus dismissal. Peered at olive green lake waters, witnessing the sun dance off water ripples with kids in play. Throwing fetch with my golden-coated K9’s, Izzy and Buddy. BBQing delicious steaks and burgers on 4th of July’s and countless Friday nights. Protecting me from projectiles while trimming fine grass lines. They’ve seen the beauty of my wife.

May they nourish the lake as they’ve nourished me. Farewell, my friends!
